Transition Year Work Experience

Transition Year students will be on Work Experience from the 10th March to the 16th March 2023 inclusive.
Students are required to return the Work Placement Summary Form prior to commencing their work placement.
Career Guidance Appointments

6th Year students are able to make an appointment with the Career Guidance teacher, Ms. Toolan, on Wednesdays and Thursdays using the link shared with them on the Microsoft Teams app.
LCVP Recorded Interviews

A reminder to 6th Year students sitting the LCVP that the recorded interview section will take place over the next two days (Wednesday and Thursday) in Room 4.
Students are required to wear full school uniform for the interview.
For further details and the recording schedule, students should refer to the noticeboards outside rooms 16 and 19.
Irish Debating

Garda Information Talk

The school is delighted to host a Garda Information Talk this evening in the school from 8pm.
The topics covered will include:
* Phones/ Social Media Apps
* Drugs and Alcohol
* Community Garda and the law
All parents/ guardians are welcome to attend and the talk will last about 45 minutes.
ATU Information Evening

ATU are hosting an information evening on Thursday, 26th January 2023 from 6pm to 8pm at their Dublin Road campus.

CAO Registration Deadline

A reminder that the deadline for registering with the CAO online at the reduced rate of €30 is this Friday, 20th January 2023.
The closing date for registrations is the 1st February 2023 but the cost of registration increases to €45 after this Friday.
A reminder, too, that the CAO are hosting on online information session this evening, Tuesday, 17th January 2023 from 6.30pm. The registration link for this event can be found elswhere on this page.
BT Young Scientist Competition

Best of luck to Hanora Brady (Transition Year) who is representing the school in BT Young Scientist Competition this week.
Her project is called ‘South Gain’ and it is an investigation to determine if south facing windows can reduce energy consumption.

Calling all students and staff!
It is time to vote for your favourite classroom Christmas door.
Many of our doors around the school were decorated by staff and students over the past number of weeks. The time has now come for students and teachers to cast their vote and pick their favourite classroom door.
To cast your vote, please click on the link below before 9am on Tuesday, 20th December. Only those with a school email can vote.
Christmas Holidays 2022

Carrick-on-Shannon Communtiy School will close for the Christmas holidays at 1.15pm on Wednesday, 21st December 2022. Classes will resume on Thursday, 5th January 2023 at 9am.
The staff have agreed that the next three days can be non-uniform days for the students so there is no requirement to wear our school uniform next week.
