TY Trip to John McGahern Barracks

Our Transition Year enjoyed a day-trip to the John McGahern Barracks on Monday, 12th September 2021.

The students, accompanied by Mr. Bambrick and Ms. Conroy, cycled from the school to the barracks and back. This has become an annual event on our TY calendar and we look forward to bringing next year's group.

School Attendance

We wish to remind students and parents/ guardians that there is a requirement on the school to inform TUSLA where a child has been absent from school for more than 20 days in any school year.

This year, our Attendance Officer, Ms. Walshe, will liaise with parents/ guardians of students who are absent from school on a regular basis to provide support and information in relation to school attendance.

Students are required to attend every class during the school week. Where possible, appointments should be made outside of school time. Where this is not possible, every effort should be made to return the student to school the same day.

School App Settings

Are you linked to the correct group on the app?

We are asking all the users of our app to check to see if they are connected to the correct group within the app.

For example, if your child is now in 2nd Year have you changed your settings in the app to reflect this? If not, simply click on the 'Manage' tab in the app and turn on notifications for the 2nd Year group.

The groups for incoming 1st years will be swtched off today so all students and parents/ guardians of 1st Years should make sure they have turned on the 1st Year notifications button.

If you are having problems with the app, you can email

School Tours for New Students

Students who joining us for the first time in late August can now book a place on one of the short tours that will take place each day next week.

Tours will take place at 11 am each morning and will last approximately 30 minutes. These tours are not for students who have already visited the school and there are places for twelve students (and their parents/guardians) on each tour.

To book your place on a tour, simply click on the link below and follow the instructions on screen. Your email address will be collected so that a confirmation email can be sent to you at the end of the booking process.

When booking, each tour will have 12 available slots all showing different times. Simply pick a slot (it doesn't matter which one) and press 'Next'. Regardless of the time-slot you pick, the tour will start at 11am. In other words, if you pick 11.30pm as the time slot, your tour will still begin at 11am in the school. To pick the day you wish to attend, click on the calendar and select the correct date.
