The inaugural meeting of the Debating Society took place in the school yesterday, 18th November 2021.
While currently limited to 1st and 2nd Year students, we will be inviting other year groups to join shortly after Christmas.
Thank you to the students who joined yesterday and we look forward to welcoming more students to the socitey over the coming months.
CAO Applications Facility Open

CAO Registration Now Open
The CAO is now open to new applications.( www.cao.ie )
This is a working application which means that you can add courses to it and remove courses as often as you wish up until the closing date of the 1st February 2022. We would encourage you to register as soon as possible to get your CAO number so you can start working on your form.
Ms. Duffy and Ms. Hannon will provide further information regarding this process in class next Thursday (11th November 2021).

LC Reasonable Accommodation

All LC Reasonable Accommodation Reactivation Forms (yellow forms) are to be returned to Mr. Nyland by 4pm on Wednesday, October 20th 2021 at the very latest.
Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) candidates who were granted a spelling waiver for the Junior Cycle do not have to reactivate this accommodation.
Dictionary applications will be dealt with later in the year.
October Break & Fireworks

Carrick-on-Shannon CS will close at 1.15pm on Friday, 22nd October 2021 for the mid-term break.
In the meantime, students found inpossession of fireworks (or bangers) will be suspended immediately and a recommendation made to the Board of Management that they be permanently excluded (expelled) from the school.
Fireworks are illegal and we consider them to be a serious threat to the health and safety of our school community.

A reminder that our student lockers remain closed at this time.
Students are encouraged to bring the books for four subjects per day with them to school and to keep them in their school bags.
At 1.15pm each day sudents should leave their books in the room of the class that they have at 2pm.
LC Reasonable Accommodations 2022

Students who received Reasonable Accommodations for Junior Cycle 2019 or 2020 and intend sitting the Leaving Certificate in 2022, will have these accommodations reactivated. Reactivation forms will issue in due course. Emergency accommodations which were granted will not be reactivated.
Enquiries regarding additional or new accommodations should be made by contacting our SEN Coordinator, Mr. Nyland, by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) before Monday, 28th September 2021.
Information regarding Junior Cycle Accommodations will issue in a few weeks on this website.
