3rd Year Assessment 2020
Junior Cycle Update
The Minister for Education and Skills, Mr. Joe McHugh T.D., has announced the cancellation of the Junior Cycle Examination 2020. The fees for this exam have been waived and refunds will issue automatically to those who have already paid this fee.
The Minister confirmed that all 3rd Year Junior Cycle students will be awarded certificates for the completion of Junior Cycle by the Department of Education and Skills. Schools have also been given the autonomy to assess students and to issue students with a report of achievement.
As part of this process, all 3rd Year students in Carrick-on-Shannon Community School will receive an assessment in each exam subject between the 11th May 2020 and the 22nd May 2020.
Students will be able to access each exam paper through their Microsoft 365 Teams Account from 9am on the morning of each exam. Students must complete the assignment, take a picture of their work and upload the picture to the relevant class Team on Microdoft 365 by noon of the following day. This is to ensure that students who have difficulty accessing home laptops etc. will have the opportunity to upload their assessments at a time that suits them.
